Alexander is a partner with Bird & Bird and heads the IT/E-commerce Sector Group in Germany. He has specialised in the areas of IT, e-commerce and data protection law for about 10 years on contentious and non-contentious matters.
He advises on all aspects of IT contracts, including major projects, licensing and distribution, support and professional services, as well as IT-related aspects in M&A transactions, e-commerce projects, data protection, IT and BPO outsourcing, strategic alliances and other forms of technology transfer agreements.
Alexander's client base comprises IT suppliers and IT users in general, clients from the semi-conductor industry, as well as providers and customers of IT and BPO outsourcing services.
Alexander grew up in the United States, India and Germany, went to law school at the University of Bonn where he also obtained a doctorate in law in 1995. Prior to joining Bird & Bird for the opening of its Munich office, he worked as an attorney at the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie. Alexander speaks regularly at national and international conferences and holds a list of publications on matters in the IT sector.
