Andrea Slane is an Associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Toronto, where she practices intellectual property and technology law. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, and a research fellow at the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy at the University of Toronto. Her larger project focuses on the negotiation of the boundaries between public and private concerns on the Internet. This project is an outgrowth of her life before becoming a lawyer, when she earned a Ph.D in cultural studies and wrote A Not So Foreign Affair: Fascism, Sexuality and the Cultural Rhetoric of American Democracy (Duke University Press, 2001).
