Bobby Parikh BMR Tax - Mumbai | ![]() |
An alumnus of the Bombay University and a Chartered Accountant, Bobby joined Arthur Andersen in 1984. Bobby specialised in the area of Tax and Business Advisory services. He made partner in 1995 and assumed responsibility as the Country Managing Partner for Andersen in 1998. In 2002, a significant portion of Andersen's practice in India was combined with that of the Ernst & Young organization in India. Bobby became the Chief Executive Officer of Ernst & Young in India and held that responsibility till December 2003.
Over the years, Bobby has had extensive experience in advising clients across a range of industries. India has witnessed significant deregulation and a progressive transformation of its policy framework. An area of focus for Bobby has been to work with businesses, both Indian and multinational, in interpreting the implications of the deregulation as well as the changes to India's policy framework, to help businesses better leverage opportunities that have become available and to address challenges that resulted from such changes. Over the years, Bobby has led teams that have advised clients in the areas of entry strategy (MNCs into India and Indian companies into overseas markets), business model identification, structuring a business presence, mergers, acquisitions and other business regoranisations. Bobby has also worked closely with regulators and policy formulators, in providing inputs to aid in the development of new regulations and policies, and in assessing the implications and efficacy of these and providing feedback for action In October 2004, Bobby joined others in forming BMR & Associates, a professional services firm focused on providing innovative, high quality tax and regulatory services. The vision for the firm is to build an institution centered around excellence. BMR presently has 10 partners and over 70 professionals operating from offices in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. Bobby has participated in and addressed several seminars, both external and in-house, in India and overseas, on current developments in the Indian economy, Government policies on trade and investment, and on various technical issues. Bobby has been a member of a number of trade and business associations and their management or other committees, as well as on the advisory or executive boards of non-Governmental and not for profit organisations | ||
