DINANT T.L. OOSTERBAAN (1944) is senior partner with Oosterbaan & Van Eeghen Attorneys-at-law in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He heads the firm's specialized Information and High Technology Department. Dinant Oosterbaan received a J.D. law degree from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands and an advanced M.C.J law degree from New York University School of Law. In 1997 he attended a course on the Internet at the Harvard Business and Law Schools. During the years 1971-1981 he was legal counsel with IBM in Amsterdam, Paris and the United States. (USA), 1988-1995; co-editor-in-chief of the International Computer Law Adviser, 1986-1992; and Member of the Editorial Board of the International Computer Lawyer, 1992-1995. Dinant Oosterbaan has over 34 years experience as a lawyer involved in the information technology industries, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, joint ventures, computer and software contracts, software licensing, outsourcing agreements, software and data base protection, Internet law, e-commerce law, distribution and licensing agreements, competition law, litigation and dispute resolution, data protection, IP (copyright, trademarks, domain names), telecommunications regulation and various other aspects with respect to information technology. He speaks Dutch, English, French and German. He participated as chairman and speaker at over 100 national and international conferences on computer, Internet and telecommunications law in the Netherlands, USA, Canada, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Brazil and Japan. In addition, with his wife he has visited India several times since 1984, visiting over 12 states and traveling over 10.000 kilometers on Indian roads. Dinant Oosterbaan is featured in The European Legal 500, the International Who's Who of Internet and E-commerce Lawyers, the Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Information Technology Advisers and Global Counsel 3000 (PLC Which Lawyer?
