Don Beaty is the founder of DLB Associates, a consulting mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering firm. He holds engineering licenses in over 40 states, and is both the founder and current chairperson of the ASHRAE technical committee (TC9.9) for Mission Critical Facilities, Technology Spaces and Electronic Equipment.

DLB Associates has been designing and commissioning 7 by 24 facilities for over 20 years. 350,000 Sq.Ft. High Density Data Center project with 60 MW of power and over 14,000 tons of cooling achieving 140 watts per square foot across the raised floor technical area.

DLB Associates has performed in-house studies to proactively deal with the upcoming power and cooling challenges raised by the ongoing technology advances being made. These include aspects such as:

ASHRAE TC 9.9, which includes representation from 10 major electronics / computer manufacturers, was created to provide better alignment between equipment manufacturers and facility operations personnel to ensure proper operation of equipment within datacom facilities.
