"Leading Global Virtual Teams”
Speaker: Craig Baty - Group VP & Chief Research, Gartner

Buddy: Ravi Datar - Principal Analyst, Gartner

"Most multinational and pan-regional organisations have staff working in offices remote from HQ. Of course, most multinationals have developed effective means of managing workforces in their own country of origin, but attempts to overlay these practices on other more remote workforces without thorough research and planning will result in disaster. The first challenge of managing non-local remote staff is that posed by sheer distance from head office. Overlaid on this challenge are issues of language, culture, religious practices and working rules. Assuming that HQ can develop appropriate practices to handle these issues, the use of appropriate technology to facilitate remote management raise yet another set of challenges. This presentation will look at some of these issues in depth and provide advice on how to lead virtual teams globally.

Client Issues: What is a Virtual Team? What are the Top 10 Rules for
Effectively managing remote staff? What role does Technology play in
managing remote AP/J Staff?"
