Andy Kyte is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research. Since 1999 he has been responsible for leading the research into procurement applications for Gartner's Business Management Group. He has published extensively on the business trends in procurement, covering eProcurement, sourcing and eMarketplaces.

Since the end of 2001, Mr. Kyte has been researching the emerging market for commercial contract life-cycle management applications software and services. He led the research team that predicted in April 2002 that the sector would be a $20 billion market by 2007. As a senior member of the Gartner research community, Mr. Kyte is in great demand as a keynote speaker on the future of business use of IT, having participated in events in 37 different countries over the last five years.

Mr. Kyte joined Gartner in 1997. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Kyte was with ICL Retail Systems, where he was involved in applications architecture and design for point-of-sales systems. Before ICL Retail Systems, Mr. Kyte spent several years in applications development and design for manufacturing systems. Mr. Kyte began his career by working in various roles in mechanical engineering. His involvement with information technology started in 1982 when he undertook a temporary assignment from the production engineering team to the IT department. He is passionate about applying engineering disciplines to the development and deployment of application software.
