Partha Iyengar Research Vice President Gartner Analysts Mr. Iyengar is a research vice president, based in Pune, India. He has over 17 years experience in the field of IT, primarily in the US where he has held senior technical and managerial positions at major US corporations. In the US, Mr. Iyengar was Director, Applications Development within Gartner's internal IT Department. In this position he had responsibility for conceptualising, developing, maintaining and managing Gartner's entire internal and client facing applications portfolio. He has also had a very successful stint as CEO and Principal Consultant of his own consulting organisation, where he provided consulting assistance to major corporations in the areas of Applications Design, Architecture, Standards, Software Process Control and overall AD Methodology. Mr. Iyengar returned to India to set up Gartner operations and has now moved into his current role as Research Vice President. In this role, he has been covering the areas of Applications Development and Offshore Applications Outsourcing. He has written thought leading research in the areas of AD Process Capability, Global AD issues, as well as extensive research in the areas of Global Delivery. Mr. Iyengar actively tracks the business models of the leading Offshore Services vendors from India and other emerging countries and their competitive positioning with the traditional Global Service providers. His research interest also encompasses assessing the impact of the growing Global Delivery paradigm on the traditional global IT Services marketplace. Mr. Iyengar is a frequent speaker and presenter at numerous Gartner and external forums as well as for various government organisations in India and overseas. Mr. Iyengar holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune and has also completed his M.S. at New Jersey Institute of Technology, and MBA (MIS) at Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) New York.
