Mr. Vaidyanathan joined ICICI Bank in 2000 with over 10 years of experience with Citibank India's consumer business. He has been responsible for setting up the retail finance business, which has been a thrust area for ICICI Bank. He is a Senior General Manager with ICICI Bank. His contribution includes laying the strategic roadmap of the retail businesses named above, building a powerful distribution franchise, laying down the credit and collections philosophies, and building of the retail banking team.
The retail team is over 12000 strong today, with an asset base of over Rs. 78000 crores,(Dec 2005) and about 15 million customers, including over 4 million credit cardholders. ICICI Bank today runs a highly successful business across all lines of consumer banking in India.
Mr. Vaidyanathan is an Alumni of the Birla Institute of Technology, and also a graduate and alumni of the Harvard Business School. He has completed the Advanced Management Program at HBS
- The Retail Lending Businesses (mortgages, Credit cards, Personal Loans, autoloans etc)
- The Retail Liability Businesses (Private Banking, Internet Banking, and regular liability products through the 590 strong branch network)
- The Small and Medium Enterprises businesses (SME).
