Madhivanan Balakrishnan ,is Senior General Manager and Head of Customer Service, Collections, Retail Risk, Policy, Business Intelligence Unit, Rural Risk Policy and the Compliance Group’s functions in the Retail Banking division at ICICI Bank.

Under his guidance, ICICI Banks Customer Service teams have undertaken process re-engineering leading to quicker response rates, more effective exception-handling and improved customer-satisfaction levels.

Before moving to Customer Service, Mr. Madhivanan was Head of Unsecured Products like credit cards and personal loans, and was responsible for loans against securities also.

Over the last few years, ICICI Bank has emerged as one of the leading players in the Indian credit card market with leadership status both in the issuing and the acquiring business. ICICI Bank is the undisputed leader also in the personal loans business, offering both unsecured and secured loans to individual customers across different segments and markets.

Mr. Madhivanan joined ICICI Bank in 1999 as Head of Marketing: Credit Cards; and was part of the team that launched the ICICI Bank Credit Card product in India in January 2000. He was promoted as Business Head of ICICI Bank Cards in 2002 and made responsible for all aspects of the cards business

Mr. Madhivanan is associated with the Reserve Bank of India Committee on micro-payments, and is a member of various advisory forums for the payment industry.

Before joining ICICI Bank, he was involved in sales, marketing and business development across consumer business companies such as Pepsi foods Ltd. and Goodlass Nerolac Paints Ltd.

He had formal education in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkatta (batch of 1992).

Mr. Madhivanan lives in Mumbai, India with his wife Ranu, daughter Sumedha and son Samarth.
