M.R. Rangaswami is Managing Director and co-founder of the Sand Hill Group, a San Francisco
based firm that provides investments and management advice to enterprise technology and software
companies.
Prior to founding the Sand Hill Group, MR (as he is popularly known) has been a strategic advisor to CEOs and management teams of fast-growing companies, such as Aspect Development and i2 Technologies. Before that, MR held executive positions at Baan and Oracle. He currently serves on the board of BDNA Corporation. MR produces the prestigious annual ENTERPRISE conference in Carmel, California for 200 of the most influential people in the software industry. This year he hosted Software 2004, a confab that attracted over 1,200 CEOs, Vice-Presidents, Venture Capitalists and Media from the entire industry.
A recognized industry leader, MR was profiled on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and was also named one of the 25 most influential people in the computer industry by Computer Reseller News magazine.
He was also named in the Forbes' "Midas 100 List" for two years as one of the most influential investors in technology. He holds a Bachelors in Accounting and General Law from the University of Madras and an MBA from Kent State University in Ohio.
