With a career spanning over more than 3 decades, Dr. Ravindran has a wide experience in education at various institutes and universities such as School of Industrial Engineering, Purdue University, University of Oklahoma and Penn State University. Dr. Ravindran has headed various professional bodies and institutes such as Institute of Industrial Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education, Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Operational Research Society of India He has been on editorial boards of several journals like International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management, International J. of Industrial Engineering, Computers and Operations Research Journal, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He has innumerable awards and honours to his credit for his outstanding contributions in the areas of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. He is the recipient of Albert G. Holzman Distinguished Educator Award, CASA/SME LEAD Award, Outstanding Professor Award from University of Oklahoma, Franz Edelman Finalist Award, Operations Research Division Award to name a few. Dr. Ravindran was also listed in Who's Who in American Education. Recently he was honoured as a distinguished alumnus of School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University.
