Andrew Stellman has been building software professionally for over ten years. He started working as a programmer after graduating from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He has led teams of programmers and managed numerous projects. Andrew founded the Software Engineering Process Group and led the process improvement initiative at a major financial software company, where he also founded and managed a team of business analysts and requirements analysts. Andrew has remained active in the academic world, returning to Carnegie Mellon as a guest lecturer on project management and process improvement at the School of Computer Science and the Tepper School of Business. In his free time, Andrew plays bass guitar, and studies aikido and taiji.
